- 1995-Rhode Island College Sabbatical. Awarded to complete book, Daijjobu.
- 1993- Rhode Island College Research Grant. Awarded to conduct research in business ethics in Japan.
- 1991- Carnegie Council on Ethics in International Affairs. Award to attend a 3-day faculty development workshop.
- 1990- American Association of State Colleges and Universities. Award to attend the intensive, four-week Japan Studies Institute at San Diego State University. Successfully completed, and Certificate of Merit earned.
- 1982- Faculty Development grant (awarded to myself and a colleague, Professor Robert Russell) to create a slide presentation for marketing classes on aspects of physical distribution.
