Urban and Community Farming
Rhode Island College is embarking on a new project in urban and community farming (UCF). 'Going local' is now a significant and growing trend in food production, distribution, and consumption, and RIC will be offering a speaker series and non-credit courses and workshops for those who seek information and training on income-earning, food-producing, and farming related recreation and relaxation activities.
RIC will also continue to work in partnership with the Fruit Hill Farmers Market. Look for the opening of the farmers market again this summer on campus and for additional speaker events and courses in urban and community farming at RIC.
