River North Dance Chicago

Compañia Flamenco José Porcel

From Seville Spain, fiery flamenco star José Porcel returns to Rhode Island College with his company of dancers and musicians performing their thrilling new program "Gypsy Fire" - a folkloric celebration of the new flamenco with spectacular costumes, energy and sex appeal.

National Acrobats of the People's Republic of China

When: Wednesday, November 9 at 7:30pm
Where: The Auditorium in Roberts Hall
Direct from Beijing, this troupe dazzles and amazes with stunning costumes, incredible balancing acts and fast-paced acrobatics. Fun for all ages!

The Muir String Quartet

When: Monday, November 14 at 7:30pm
Where: Sapinsley Hall
Over this season and next The Muir will perform the complete Beethoven String Quartet Cycle in six concerts. The first concert will include String Quartet in D Major, Op. 18, No. 3, Grosse Fuge in B-flat Major, Op. 133 and String Quartet in F Major, Op. 59, No. 1.

A Leahy Family Christmas

When: Sunday, December 11 at 2:30pm

A Canadian powerhouse of eight musical brothers and sisters, this family of instrumentalists, singers, and dancers share their Christmas favorites as well as original seasonal pieces in this unique Celtic-inspired holiday show.

The Muir String Quartet

The second concert in the Beethoven Cycle will include String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 127, String Quartet in F Major, Op. 18, No. 1 and String Quartet in C Major, Op. 59, No. 3.

Pianist Frederic Chiu

When: Sunday, March 4 at 2:30pm
Where: Sapinsley Hall

Frederic Chiu's piano-playing springs from his Asian/American/European background, his musical training and an exploration of artificial intelligence and human psychology, especially the body-mind-heart connection.

Barynya, Russian Dance and Music Ensemble

When: Tuesday, March 20 at 7:30pm
Where: The Auditorium in Roberts Hall
This world renowned Russian folk ensemble features Russian, Cossack, Ukrainian, Jewish and Gypsy Roma traditional dancing and singing. Live musicians accompany in virtuoso performances on traditional instruments - balalaika, bass-balalaika and garmoshka.

American pianist Simone Dinnerstein has been called "a throwback to such high priestesses of music as Wanda Landowska and Myra Hess" by Slate magazine, and praised by TIME for her "arresting freshness and subtlety." Program to be announced.

Vox Lumiere: Metropolis

When: Wednesday, April 25 at 7:30pm
Where: The Auditorium in Roberts Hall
Flying cars, TV phones, evil robots - Metropolis is the future - an electrifying adventure to a fantastic world where the impossible is a way of life. Vox Lumiere is the next evolution in entertainment where rock concert comes together with theater and classic silent film.
