PORT 201: Conversation and Composition

Students develop fluency in Portuguese and perfect written expression, while further cultivating an understanding and appreciation of the cultural and linguistic heritage of the Portuguese-speaking world. Our special focus in this class is the study of 20th century political and social transitions in Portugal, Brazil and African Portuguese-speaking nations during the 1960s-1970s. Conducted in Portuguese.

PORT 202: Composition and Conversation

Writing skills in Portuguese are developed through grammatical exercises, controlled composition, original themes, and the stylistic analysis of literary texts. Discussions of written materials in Portuguese provide oral practice.Our special focus in this class is the study of the ethnomusical diversity from all Portuguese-speaking nations. Conducted in Portuguese.
