A Selection of Internet Addresses for Studying the Muslim World: Past and Present
The internet is a wonderful resource but in the case of using it for teaching resources and objective academic information one needs to be especially alert in studying the Muslim world for biased sources, whether left, right, up or down. The following is a brief selection of sites that are useful and accurate in their content and will provide the teachers at the secondary and elementary levels with a rich source of information, including lesson plans, and a variety of perspectives to evaluate and choose from. I have listed them in several categories, though there is overlap in some cases. A further source of information includes the materials for my courses on Islamic history which are available on the College’s Web-CT system.
