Chemical Dependency / Addiction Studies

The B.S.in Chemical Dependency/Addiction Studies (CDAS) is an extension of the existing liberal arts major in Psychology. However, there is less choice in course selection and the program includes a series of five professional development courses (two of which are also Nursing courses).

Students must consult with their assigned advisor before they will be able to register for courses.

Admission Requirements

Students must have a minimum grade of B- in Psychology 217, 451, and 452; and a minimum grade point average of 2.50 in all courses taken in the program prior to admission.

Retention Requirements

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50 in the major, and a minimum grade of B- in Psychology 453, 471, and 474. Enrollment in these three courses require prior admission into the chemical dependency program. In their junior year, students should file an application with the program director.
