Parking Policy
Parking and operating a motor vehicle on campus is a privilege, not a right and
constitutes acceptance by the individual of the responsibility to assure that
his or her vehicle is neither parked nor operated in violation of any college
regulation or motor vehicle and traffic regulation of the State of Rhode Island.
The college assumes no responsibility for loss or theft of, damage to, or
property missing from vehicles while parked or operated on campus.
All faculty, staff, students and visitors operating or parking a vehicle on
campus are responsible for familiarizing themselves with and understanding these
regulations.
Registration Of Motor Vehicles
All motor vehicles intended to be operated or parked on campus must be
registered with the Campus Police Department by completing the proper
registration form. All applicants for a campus parking and operating permit must
present a valid college ID card, driver's license, state registration
certificate and proof of minimum liability insurance required by the State in
which the vehicle is registered.
Summons and Traffic Citations
All parking and traffic citations issued by Campus Police are returnable to the
Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal. As such, persons receiving citations may be
required to appear in court and/or pay a fine.
Persons receiving a summons are additionally advised that failure to appear in
court or pay fines may result in any or all of the following actions being
taken:
- Operators License Suspension or Revocation
- Vehicle License Suspension
- Court-ordered Arrest
