The residence halls at Rhode Island College are a smoke free community. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the residence halls including but not limited to rooms, bathrooms, suites, lounges, lobbies, courtyards, front desks, kitchens, recreation rooms, laundry rooms, hallways, stairways, and elevators. Smoking outside a residence hall can be done only in the following designated areas: the end of the entrance ramp toward the road in Sweet Hall, the front steps of Thorp and Weber Halls and the Campus Police Entrance of Browne Hall, and 10 feet beyond Suite A and the rec. room of Willard Hall. Smoking in other areas around the residence halls will be in violation of this policy.
