Rhode Island Geography Education Alliance

The theme for 2008-2009 is “MAPPING the AMERICAS”. Here in Rhode Island we are planning events for teachers to learn about the exciting toolkits they can use in their classrooms to teach their students about North and South America!

These materials include: a colorful poster map of the Americas, a booklet full of terrific teaching ideas for K-12 and a CD containing a file for a projectable map of the Americas and a file to print out a 20ft x 10ft tile map of the Americas!

A great idea for schools is to make one of these large maps  for GEOGRAPHY AWARENESS WEEK (November 16-22 2008)!!
