WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Elementary Pre-Service Teachers enrolled in a Teacher Education Program at a Rhode Island College or University

Saturday January 23, 2010 – 8:30-12:30PM (8:00-8:30AM check-in)

 

  • ·       Learn about  geography, “the mother of all sciences” and how it integrates across the curriculum
  • ·         Receive exciting geography lessons, resources & materials
  • ·   Explore hands-on strategies to integrate geography into your teaching
  • ·         Be inspired by National Geographic Society trained teachers
  • ·        Compliant with National Geography Standards and Rhode Island Grade Span Expectations

 
APPLICATIONS:

Pre-Service teachers who are interested in attending the conference must submit a completed application (see following page).  The deadline for applications is  Tuesday December 15, 2009

Conference is held at the beautiful Whispering Pines Conference Center at the W. Alton Jones Campus of the University of Rhode Island, West Greenwich, RI. Participants should wear comfortable attire.
