Rhode Island Writing Project

The deadline for our summer programs has been extended.

Applications to the Summer Institute on Writing and Critical Literacy, the Literature Institute for Teachers, Planning for Change and the Literacy Leadership Workshop will be accepted through June 6. Applications for the Young Writers’ Camp will be accepted through June 15.

Through the National Writing Project’s professional development programs, teachers in all subject areas and at all grade levels become members of a professional community where they can learn new strategies for helping their students become accomplished writers and learners. They also become members of a professional community that helps them keep their teaching current and effective.

The Rhode Island Writing Project is a network of teachers throughout the state affiliated with the National Writing Project and dedicated to the improvement of teaching and learning in Rhode Island schools. Our primary focus is on literacy, but we work in all the subject areas to connect writing to learn with purposeful and engaged reading in all disciplines.
