Summer Institute on Teaching Writing
July 7 - 25, 2014
Old Alumni House, Rhode Island College
This three-week RIWP Institute is open to practicing teachers, K-16, in all content areas who are seeking a renewed sense of purpose as teachers of writing.
This will be our 29th Summer Institute, a fellowship program for teachers who want to strengthen their instruction as teachers of writing and to examine pertinent questions and challenges in the field. The Summer Institute on Teaching Writing is at the core of the National Writing Project's teachers-teaching-teachers model. Upon completion of the Summer Institute, you become a Teacher Consultant with the RI Writing Project and are eligible for teacher leadership opportunities in our many programs.
The 2014 RIWP Summer Institute will meet at Rhode Island College, July 7th to July 25th, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The 2014 Institute will be facilitated by Dr. Jenn Cook, Director of the RIWP. We seek a group of thoughtful, committed educators, ready to share their expertise and experience with others. We invite you to join us this summer for a transformative experience with like-minded colleagues. The fee for this three-week, three-credit, professional development course is $800.
