To expand the opportunities for children with disabilities to participate in the general curriculum and to
improve their performance on state assessments and other outcome measures
YEAR 1 – 2002-2003
- Research to Practice Coordinating Committee established and convened.
- Developed Cycle 1 Master Teacher job description, hiring process, and hired master teacher.
- Developed criteria and process to select Cycle 1 RISIG schools and selected schools.
- Developed framework for self assessment instrument.
YEAR 2 – 2003-2004
- Developed Cycle II Master Teacher job description and hiring process
- Developed criteria and process to select Cycle II RISIG schools
- Developed, administered and provided results of school self-study to Cycle I schools
- Cycle I schools revised School Improvement Plans, based on self-study results
- Provided Cycle I schools with on-site technical assistance
- Developed nine core curriculum instructional models
- Conducted Summer Inclusion Institute for Cycle I schools
