Autism Spectrum Disorder Sessions

The Sherlock Center, in partnership with The Autism Project, is sponsoring the following training sessions for Early Intervention professionals in Rhode Island. Participants may attend one or more sessions. Space is limited, so pre-registration is required. There is no cost to attend.

Session 1: Monday, April 30, 2018 (1:00 - 3:00 PM)

Participants will learn how to:
  • Identify atypical development as it relates to ASD
  • Have conversations with families regarding atypical development
  • Understand criteria used in the diagnostic process
Session 2: Monday, May 21, 2018 (1:00 - 3:00 PM)
  • Participants will hear from a panel of parents. Parents will discuss the unique aspects of their children with ASD and the impact on the family.
  • Participants will learn how to use the information presented in Early Intervention.
Session 3: Wednesday, June 6, 2018 (12:00 - 3:00 PM)

  • Participants will learn strategies and make materials to share with families to address unique learning characteristics of children with ASD.

Space is limited to EI professionals in Rhode Island. Use the online link below to register for your session/s of choice. There is no fee to attend. A confirmation and parking pass will be issued upon registering.

Accommodations Requests

Professional Development

Sessions 1 and 3 are approved for RIC CEUs. Attendance at both sessions is required. A $20 fee will apply. General letters of attendance will be available at the end of each workshop.
