This workshop will present strategies that give family caregivers of adults (18 years or older) with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) the skills to respond safely to various levels of risk behavior while balancing the responsibilities of care.

You will learn:
  1. How to respond to your loved one's behavior in a supportive way.
  2. How to plan for safety strategies and emergency responses.
  3. Ways to re-establish trust and support your loved one after an incident.
This workshop DOES NOT address or include training in physical intervention strategies.

About this workshop:
This Sharing Strategies workshop is based on Crisis Prevention Institute's (CPI) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program. All instructors are CPI Certified. Each instructional team will include an instructor who is also a family member.
