Once a person is determined eligible for support through the Division of Developmental Disabilities and assigned a funding level, individuals may choose a provider agency or design their own supports and direct how thier assigned support dollars are spent through the use of a fiscal intermediary.
If choosing self-directed supports, you should begin conversations with your fiscal intermediary four to six months before the expected start of service.
