Sherlock Sentinels and Advisory Committee

Sherlock Home

What is the Sentinel Advisory Committee?

The Sherlock Sentinel Advisory Committee is the consumer advisory committee for the Sherlock Center. Members include persons with disabilities and family members of children and youth with disabilities. The committee meets at the Sherlock Center on Wednesday evenings six times a year (every other month). Transportation reimbursement, a meeting stipend, and dinner are provided.

Advisory members have three important roles:
  • To inform the Sherlock Center on the needs within Rhode Island.
  • To give input to the Sherlock Center on current and new activities.
  • To plan two meeting or events a year for the general public to meet the interests and needs of the disability community.
How do I apply to become an Advisory Member?

Apply online or print the application and send it to the Sherlock Center by mail or fax. Applicants will be interviewed and selected by the Sentinels Advisory Committee. We welcome new members from diverse communities and will provide language and physical accommodations as needed.
