Supporting Meaningful Employment Training Series

Applying for CEUs

Sherlock Center Home | SME Training | Fieldwork Assignments | Applying for CEUs

As a participant of the ACRE Approved Supporting Meaningful Employment (SME) training series, you are also eligible to receive continuing education credits (CEUs). SME is approved for 4.0 CEUs (40 hours of instruction) by the Office of Professional Studies and Continuing Education at RI College. Eligible SME participants must complete all 12 modules (either by attending the half-day or full-day sessions) before receiving CEUs. No partial credit will be issued.

How to Apply for Continuing Education Credits (CEUs):

To apply for CEUs you will need to register online with the RIC Office of Professional Studies and Continuing Education. When completing the registration form you will be asked to enter details such as the title of the course, course number, semester, sponsoring agency, etc. All required details are available in the "CEU Registration Instructions" document provided via the link below. Have the instructions handy when you complete the CEU registration form. Complete the registration process once you have completed all 12 training modules.

Read the instructions and have them with you when completing the CEU Registration form provided below.

CEU Registration Form

SME participants completing the 12 modules in within 2016 may use this form to apply for CEUs, EVEN if you took your first SME session in early 2016 or in 2015. The deadline to apply using the 2016 form is January 20, 2017. There is a $20 processing fee for CEUs, payable to RI College. Prior to issuing CEUs, RIC will confirm with the Sherlock Center that the attendance requirement of 12 modules has been met.

2016 SME participants that have not yet completed all 12 modules will have the opportunity to apply for CEUs in 2017 (once the attendance requirement is met).

PLEASE NOTE: EARNING CEUs IS NOT EQUIVALENT TO COMPLETING THE ACRE CERTIFICATE. CEUs ARE BASED ON INSTRUCTION HOURS ONLY. TO RECEIVE THE ACRE CERTIFICATE YOU MUST ALSO COMPLETE THE REQUIRED FIELDWORK ASSIGNMENTS. YOU MAY APPLY FOR BOTH CEUs and the ACRE CERTIFICATE.

If you have any questions regarding the process for obtaining CEUs, please contact Mary Anne Pallack at mpallack@ric.edu or call 401-456-8882.
