Description: This science unit consists of four lesson focused upon the properties of water.
Lesson 1 introduces second grade students to the properties of water through hands on exploration, including a) pour and flow and b) distinction from solids.
Lesson 2 focuses on filtration, using hands-on exploration to develop an understanding of water and how it filters through various items in different ways.
Lesson 3 builds an understanding of absorption, as students develop an understanding of how water filters various items in different ways.
Lesson 4 culminates students' knowledge and understanding of the properties of water through students' presentations using a Readers' Theatre model.
