Professional Continuing Education & Licensing

Since 1982, Continuing Education in Social Work has been committed to providing high-quality educational experiences that assist social service practitioners in improving their knowledge and skills. We are committed to offering workshops that meet the current needs and interests of the social work community.

Rhode Island Social Work Licensing Requirements

Social workers who are licensed and who practice in Rhode Island are required to complete 30 continuing education hours every two years. At least 3 hours must be in the area of cross-cultural practice to include the alleviation of oppression. In addition, at least 3 continuing education hours must be in the area of professional ethics. Several of our offerings meet these requirements.
