Justice Studies Alumni Graduate from Municipal Police Academy

The 34-member graduating class of the Rhode Island Municipal Police Academy, including three justice studies alumni: Christopher Lo, Nicholas Reay-Alton, and Andrew Girard.

Andrew Girard, an alumnus of the justice studies program who completed an honors project on discretion in police traffic stops in his senior year, has been sworn in as a probationary officer in the Woonsocket Police Department. Here, he is pictured with Jim Clift, a Providence Police Detective who teaches as an adjunct in the justice studies program. Jim is a Rhode Island College alumnus, double majoring in 1992 in Sociology & Justice Studies, and is and the recipient of a RIC Alumni Honor Roll award in Justice Studies in 2006.
