Gerontology Conference

April 25, 2007

On April 25, with the support of the College Lectures Committee and the AGES student organization, the Gerontology Center and Psychology Department sponsored a conference on "Weathering Old Age." The conference focused on maintaining physical, psychological and social well-being in later years as well as being prepared for emergencies/disasters.

Dr. Robin Montvilo, Rhode Island College, leads a workshop on
retaining mental acuity in aging.



Janice Fifer, Rhode Island College, leads a workshop on
maintaining physical fitness in aging.



Kelly Fitzgerald, University of Massachusetts-Boston, leads a
workshop on disaster-preparedness consideration for older adults.



Susan Contreras, Capitol Region RSVP, leads a workshop on
volunteering and older adults.
