Mr. Kenneth Weakley, who provided the founding $100,000 donation for the Student Managed Investment Fund administered in the Seminar in Finance class, has  again donated  a very generous gift to be applied towards the Department of Economics and Finance Alumni Fund for Faculty Development and Program Development.

Faculty members Lisa Bain and Jean Haver-Lafond finished an impressive first and second in their respective categories for the Homecoming 5K.

• The Raymond Trott Banking Scholarship for 2008-2009, awarded to an outstanding student with an interest in banking, has been awarded to Vivian Noriega. 

• The Department of Accounting and CIS and the School of Management will be hosting a meeting of the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants in the Alger 110 Assembly Room on Wednesday, November 5, at 6:00. There will be several speakers representing different segments of the accounting profession, with time available after the presentations for networking. This event was very popular the last time it was offered, so arrive early for a good seat
