Program description
The M.Ed. in Urban Multicultural Special Education program is an interdisciplinary program designed for K-12 Special Education teachers who work with English Language Learners with special needs. The program assists you in obtaining the ESL Certificate in addition to the Rhode Island teaching certificate(s) you currently hold.
Program goals
- Develop knowledge of the unique learning needs of students with cultural and linguistic difference.
- Develop knowledge of instruction, assessment, and curriculum that support students with disabilities and linguistic challenge.
- Integrate knowledge into effective teaching practice.
