RIC ESL Content Area Endorsement

This endorsement of a subject area certificate (excluding English and Foreign Languages) is valid for service as a teacher of Limited English Proficient students receiving instruction in the subject content area in a self-contained setting. For special subjects teachers, this endorsement is valid in all grades (PK-12) and for secondary certified teachers, the endorsement is valid in grades 7 through 12. For special education teachers, this endorsement is valid for service at the grade level in which special education certification is held.

Socio-Cultural Foundations of ESL Education TESL 549: Sociocultural Foundations of Language Minority Education (fall/summer)
Theories of First and Second Language Acquisition TESL 539: Language Acquisition and Learning (spring/summer)
Curriculum and Methods for Content ESL Instruction TESL 548: Curriculum and Methods for Content ESL Instruction (Prerequisite: TESL 549 or TESL 539) (spring)
