FALL BLACKBOARD PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS

Boot Camp - Using Blackboard to Support Your F2F/Hybrid Classes: Basic

User Support Services (USS) and the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL) will be offering a "Blackboard Boot Camp" - an all day workshop (9-3pm). This workshop is designed to help faculty use Blackboard to support their face-to-face class. This workshop will cover all of the topics found in the Blackboard Basics, Organizing and Building Your Course, Managing the Course Files and Communicating with Students workshops. Throughout the workshop, you will be given time to apply what you've learned into your own Blackboard course and start to develop your own course. Participants will learn the how and why to use specific Blackboard tools and best practices on how to organize your Course Menu and content. Lunch will be provided! Boot Camp - Using Blackboard to Support Your F2F Class: Advanced

Instructors: USS and FCTL staff

This full-day workshop will begin with a review of the basic features of Blackboard. A pedagogical approach to course design will be used as a basis for the refresher on menu design, learning modules and folders. Faculty will then be introduced to assignments and rubrics and methods of giving students feedback on their work. Using tests and surveys will be followed by setting up and using the grade center. The workshop runs from 9:00-3:00, with plenty of hands-on opportunities for you to work in your own course. Lunch is included! Note: It is recommended that you have some experience with Blackboard or that you have taken some introductory Blackboard courses.

Blackboard Help Sessions

Are you looking to get some help in developing your Spring Blackboard courses or migrate your Fall Blackboard course over to your Spring course? If so, then you should plan on coming to one of the Blackboard Help session. We will be providing this support Deli Counter style --first come; first served.
