Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Basics

User Support Services will be offering an Acrobat DC Basics workshop. Adobe Acrobat DC is a software program that is widely used to view, create and edit Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format) files. In this workshop, we will show you how to create and manipulate PDF files to existing documents using the Acrobat editing tools. Users will learn quick methods for rearranging, combing, and extracting PDF documents and will also gain comprehensive understanding of how to work with PDF documents in an office environment or at home. This workshop will cover the following topics: 

  • Converting a scan to searchable text
  • Combining Multiple PDFs
  • Inserting Pages
  • Replacing Pages
  • Changing Page Order
  • Rotating Pages
  • Extracting Pages
  • Cropping Pages
  • Splitting a Document

All e-classrooms and e-lab in the newly renovated Craig-Lee have the ultraSgage and collaborate with your students? Are you looking be proficient in using the equipment in the Craig-Lee rooms? Then this workshop is for you. In this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • How to select different sources, such as the PC and Blu-ray, from the Extron panel?
  • How to change the in-room lighting?
  • How to use the Epson PC Free Annotation (Epson pen/finger touch interactivity)?
  • How to use the Whiteboard feature?
  • How to switch from the display source to the Epson interactive whiteboard?
  • How to save PC Free Annotations to your Flash drive?

Blackboard Basics Boot Camp - Using Blackboard to Support Your Courses

User Support Services (USS) and the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL) will offer one session of the "Basics Boot Camp" this January.

By the end of this workshop, faculty will:

  • Build a basic menu system in Blackboard.
  • Online course design that is consistent with your syllabus.
  • Organizing, building, and managing course content.
  • Upload a syllabus.
  • Uploading and using video content.
  • Add course content.
  • Add email functionality within the course.
  • Take attendance in Blackboard.

  • Thursday, February28th 4:30 - 6:30PM Webinar (Online using Blackboard Collaborate)

Recordings will be available for those that register but are unable to attend virtually.

This virtual workshop is designed to give participants a solid foundation, enabling them to successfully deliver live, interactive Collaborate sessions. Participants will learn about the key features and core functions of the Collaborate user interface. They will learn about session roles and how to effectively manage the communication tools, understand audio indicators, manage session and participant interaction, display the whiteboard and PowerPoint content, and record a session.

  • How to navigate through the Blackboard environment
  • How to submit work to an assignment
  • How to take an online Blackboard quiz/test
  • How to post to a discussion form, blog and journal
  • How to access grades that your professors are releasing to the students
