DANTE DEL GIUDICE Associate Professor of Dance Director of Dance & Managing Director of RIC Dance Company M.P.A., University of Rhode Island B.A. in Dance, Rhode Island College.

Dance artist and educator active in the northeast region as a performer since 1977, as a collegiate dance instructor and rehearsal director since 1982, and as a collegiate dance program director since 1984. Program developments include establishment of a B.A. in dance performance and expanded performance opportunities for students in shared concerts with guest artists (annual Winter and October Concerts) and in concerts featuring student choreography (annual Student Choreography Showcase). Additional new programming includes an ongoing concert series featuring Rhode Island dance companies and independent artists since 1990.

Professional dance credits include performance work throughout the eastern United States and extended residencies in Holland and Belgium with Dance Collective of Boston (1980-85), Concert Dance Company of Boston (1979-82 & 1984), Marcus Schulkind Dance Company in New York (1977-78), and Festival Ballet in Rhode Island (1977-78).

Graduate areas of specialization included nonprofit administration, cultural policy and artist demographics. His community work includes substantial primary research on the Rhode Island nonprofit arts community and has included service on the Board of Directors of the Duncan Avenue Arts Collaborative (President, 1995) and the Rhode Island Dance Consortium (founding and advisory member). He was the recipient of a fellowship in choreography from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts in 1984 and inducted into the Alumni Honor Roll at Rhode Island College in 1993.
