The Sherlock Center is part of a national network of programs known as University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs). The Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rhights Act of 2000 (the DD Act) requires each UCEDD to establish a consumer advisory committee. Though not your typical committee, the Sentinel Project is the consumer advisory committee for the Sherlock Center.

The Sentinel Project strives to bring together individuals with disabilities and their family members to share their experiences with the Sherlock Center and one another.
