Welcoming meetings will be held in each target school for accepted students.
March 1

New students and parents report to RIC at 8:30am or the Orientation Program.  These sessions will be held in the Student Union Ballroom.

Parents will leave at approximately 10:30, but students will remain for teambuilding activities, standardized testing, campus tour, and lunch.
Parents may pick up students at approximately 2:45pm.

No Saturday classes for Group I students.

March 8

Newly-selected students (now known as Group II students) begin Saturday classes.
March 15 Deadline for Group I Students to submit summer medical forms
March (TBA) Deadline for seniors to submit Upward Bound Scholarship applications
March Newly-enrolled Juniors register for the SATs that will be held on June 2
March High School Progress Reports for Upward Bound students requested
Mid-March Summer 2014 Employment Opportunities Announced
April 5 Senior meeting & class photos
April 5 Deadline for submission of medical information for Group II students continuing into the summer component.
April 19 & April 26 No Saturday classes.
Month of April Parent conferences scheduled (parents should call assigned counselor to schedule appointment).
Mid-April (TBA) Priority filing deadline for summer 2014 employment – applications will continue to be accepted until all positions are filled.
April/May Upward Bound Counselors meet with seniors and parents to review college acceptances
April 5, 12 and May 3 SAT workshops for juniors
April (TBA) Summer Internships – Information Session (12:30pm)
May – TBA Deadline for sophomores and juniors to submit applications for summer internships.
May (TBA) Upward Bound Scholarship Committee conducts interviews for semi-finalists
May 10 Spring Saturday Academy concludes.
Spring Awards Ceremony and annual picnic.
Week of May 19 Copies of students’ spring academic evaluations and “Standards for Continuation and Graduation from the Program” will be mailed to parents/guardians.
Early June (details TBA) Upward Bound Class of 2014 Graduation Ceremony All students and parents invited.
