Rhode Island College has Technology Facilities located all over campus. There are classroom computer labs located in Alger, Gaige, Horace Mann, and Whipple. Most of the buildings also have electronic classrooms with computer and audio/video equipment for the faculty to incorporate in their lessons. Faculty members are encouraged to check out and use the Faculty Development Area located in the back of Horace Mann Technology Center. For more information about electronic classrooms and labs, please check out the Faculty Toolbox or call 8803.
Our walk in labs are used by faculty, staff and students. If you don't have access to a computer, please use the computers in the walk in labs. If you own a laptop with wireless networking, the Technology Center at Horace Mann is equipped with wireless access. You may also connect your laptop to the network with your CAT 5 Ethernet cable. Network drops are located at the round tables near the entrance to the HMTC. The Tech Center does not supply Ethernet cables so please bring a cable if you would like to connect your laptop to the network. (Note: The walk in labs are not open to the public. Adams Library does have kiosk stations that are open to the public.)
At Rhode Island College, most electronic classrooms and teaching labs are equipped with multimedia equipment to enhance teaching and learning. Currently, the College has nearly 200 electronic classrooms distributed across the campus. We group the electronic classrooms and labs by levels to help identify the type of equipment in each room. We currently have 5 levels (0-4). There are also five auditorium facilities which are equipped with multimedia and other technology-related equipment. We ask you to assist us by reserving electronic classrooms only when you intend to use the special equipment on a regular basis.
Detailed information and instructions for e-classrooms and teaching labs
Note: If you know which instructions you require, you can reach the instructions directly by clicking on the cabinet type below. Please check back often since we are adding new instruction sets on a regular basis.

Located in the rear of the Technology Center in Horace Mann, the Faculty Development Area offers the full-time and adjunct faculty a private space for working with hardware and software not generally available in other buildings on campus. The student technology staff will assist faculty members with the use of the equipment in the FDA by appointment. To schedule an appointment with a student technologist, please telephone the Help Desk at x8803.
