I can't log on to WebCT
- You see: "You entered an
incorrect username and password"
Solution: WebCT IDs and passwords are
case sensitive. If you use the wrong case, you will not be able to log-on. If
you have forgotten your password, please reset your password using PASSWORD
STATION. This will change the password for NT\Email as well. Go to
https://passwordstation.ric.edu and follow the directions. If nothing works,
please go to the Helpdesk in Horace Mann or Whipple where a staff member can
help you.
- You see: "You are not authorized to view this page"
Solution: There is most likely something that is blocking your access to WebCT.
Please follow the steps in the
Log-on Error page
to remove that which is blocking access.
- You see: nothing
Solution: This might be caused by a firewall or
popup blocker you might be using. You might have to disable them in order to get
into WebCT. Please reference your owners manual's for these programs to disable
them.
- You can also follow the steps in the
Technical Requirements
for WebCT to ensure that you have gone through all of the steps to prepare your
computer for WebCT.
Can I change
my password?
Yes, you can.
PASSWORD
STATION allows you to change your password. Click on the password station
link to be taken to the site and follow the directions. *
Resetting your
password will also reset your NT\Email accounts.I can't see some of the discussion postings I have or the
responses.
There are several ways of viewing discussions. You can try out
the different views by clicking on view
all/view unread and
threaded/unthreaded. If you clicked on
threaded you will see
the postings plus blue arrows next to it. Click on the blue arrows to expand the
threads.
I can't open any documents in
WebCT
With the release of SP2 for IE and with IE7, documents do not
automatically open unless you click on the yellow bar that appears over the
website. Please
click here to find out how to enable/disable it. Please also
make sure that you have designated WebCT as safe in your IE
settings.
I can't open email or discussion
postings.
Your browser settings are probably not set-up for WebCT. Please go to the WebCT
technical requirements page, and the log-on problems page to configure your browser
correctly.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using IE with Service Pack 2 it could be that the
popup blocker is blocking your access. Please make sure you disable this function.

to find out how to disable it.
When I click
on a quiz, the quiz will not open properly.
Your browser settings are probably not set-up for WebCT. Please go to the WebCT technical requirements page or use
the browser check feature on the upper right hand corner of the log-on page
and the log-on problems page to configure your browser
correctly.

I've tried all
of the options to get into WebCT and nothing is working.
If you are using IE
(Internet Explorer) please switch over to Netscape or another browser (see
step
4 to get a list of downloads) to see if this solves your problem. Otherwise,
call the helpdesk at 8803, or email
WebCT Administrator with your
problem.
