'Rabbit Hole' – at RIC Nov. 18-22 – explores uncertain paths through a family’s tragedy

The play, which won a 2007 Pulitzer and garnered a Tony-Award nomination for best play, will be staged by the Rhode Island College Mainstage Theatre from Nov. 18-21 at 8 p.m. and on Nov. 21 and 22 at 2 p.m.

Performances will take place in the Nazarian Center’s Forman Theatre. Associate professor of theatre Jamie Taylor will direct.

Youth ensembles to take the stage at RIC Nov. 24

Grade-school students are set to take the stage at Rhode Island College in a collaborative concert featuring the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensembles (RIPYWE) and the Junior Providence Singers.

Segregation is back in America’s public schools

In a lecture on Oct. 21, educational activist Jonathan Kozol spoke to a full house in Roberts auditorium. The facts he presented raised historical questions. Didn’t the landmark Supreme Court decision Brown v. Board of Education and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 solve the problem of segregated schools? According to Kozol, “Yes and no.”
