Honors Program in Accounting

Pile of receipts

The Departmental Honors Program in accounting is intended to provide exceptional students an opportunity to demonstrate their skills. In this program, you will develop a proposal to study a specific area of accounting under the supervision of a faculty advisor. Your proposal must be approved by your faculty advisor and the department chair. You have two semesters to complete your research project, which must be both written and orally presented to the Accounting Department faculty who may make suggestions and observations. If you successfully complete departmental honors, you will receive the designation “Honors in Accounting” on your transcript. This designation may be included on your résumés and graduate school applications.
