This alternative pathway to Secondary Education certification, which includes coursework in Special Education, was designed to meet the needs of the Teach for America population.

Program Details

Admission Requirements

  1. A completed application form accompanied by a fifty-dollar nonrefundable application fee.
  2. B.A. from a regionally accredited college, with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  3. Acceptance in Rhode Island Teach for America.
  4. Successful completion of TFA Institute.
  5. Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate records.
  6. Professional Goals Essay
  7. Three letters of recommendation that address the academic ability and aptitude of the applicant
  8. Resume

SED 506 Survey of Instructional Design – Transfer course from Delta State University; credit earned during TFA Summer Institute

SED 507 Instructional Design and Literacy – Transfer course from Delta State University; credit earned during TFA Summer Institute 3 cr.
