State of Rhode Island Development Academies

The Department of Administration has launched the Rhode Island Learning and Development Office. The mission of this new office is to create a culture of continual learning and improvement to promote professional development opportunities for State employees that enhance capacity, maximize efficiency and to support organizational goals.

The Learning and Development Office established Academies which are programs of study or training in a special area, such as management, leadership development, customer service or communications. These programs are specifically designed as a planned sequence of instruction with clear learning outcomes and opportunities for classroom participation. Each Academy has a designated target audience, learning objectives and course curriculum.
