COVID-19 Community Levels

As of March 10, community levels of COVID-19 for the state of Rhode Island (Providence County) have been reported by the RI Department of Health as Low Level.

Low Level

 
  • People may choose to mask at any time. 

  • Do not come to campus if you are sick, test negative before coming to campus.
  • Masks are required in high-risk areas Center for Health & Wellness, advising meetings and individual sessions/interactions; Classroom masking is at the discretion of each faculty member.
  • Masks are recommended in indoor public transportation settings and may be required in other places by local or state authorities.

Medium Level

 
  • Do not come to campus if you are sick, test negative before coming to campus.

  • Residential students call Health Services at 401-456-8055 if symptomatic.
  • *Medical and Religious exemptions begin testing weekly. Majors (MTD, athletics begin testing).
  • Masks are encouraged in all buildings.
  • Masks are required in the classrooms, faculty offices and classroom labs and student services staff offices (i.e., Center for Health & Wellness, Disability Services, and tutoring) unless the professor, staff member or tutor expressly waives that requirement.
  • Masks and testing are required if not fully vaccinated or if you have received a religious or medical exemption.
  • If you are at high risk for getting very sick, wear a well-fitting mask or respirator.
  • If you have household or social contact with someone at high risk getting very sick, consider self-testing to detect infection before contact and consider wearing a mask when indoors with them.

High Level

 
  • Do not come to campus if you are sick, test negative before coming to campus.

  • Residential students call Health Services at 401-456-8055 if symptomatic.
  • *Medical and Religious exemptions are required to test weekly.
  • Masks are encouraged in all buildings.
  • Masks are required in the classrooms, faculty offices and classroom labs and student services staff offices (i.e., Center for Health & Wellness, Disability Services, and tutoring) unless the professor, staff member or tutor expressly waives that requirement.
  • Masks and testing are required if not fully vaccinated or if you have received a religious or medical exemption.
  • If you are high risk for getting very sick, consider avoiding non-essential indoor activities in public where you could be exposed.
