20th Anniversary of 9/11 - #NEVERFORGET

RIC Seal Office of the President

Dear Campus Community,
I ask that each member of the campus community pause for a moment on this 20th anniversary of the unconscionable terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center in New York City, NY, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia and in a township near Shanksville, Pennsylvania on September 11th 2001. We shall never forget those who lost their lives in those attacks, nor those first responders and service men and women who risked their own lives to protect us and safeguard our freedom.
I am mindful that many of the students who walk our campus today were infants, or were not born, at the time of those horrific acts, which changed our nation forever. Their presence today is a reminder that even in our darkest hour, there can still be hope.

Yours in education,

Frank D. Sánchez
