RICovery Fall 2023 Overdose Prevention Trainings

In this training, you will learn how to identify the signs of an overdose and understand what causes an overdose. We will explain the benefits of and teach you how to use NARCAN, a nasal spray that temporarily stops an overdose to give time for medical intervention. At the end of the training, you will receive two doses of NARCAN, as well as information on how to get more if necessary. 

You will also learn how to use Fentanyl Testing strips to test substances such as pills and powders for the presence of fentanyl, one of the largest culprits in overdose deaths today. Upon completion of the training, you will receive a set of three tests. These tests include graphics that explain how to test for the presence of Fentanyl if you are getting trained to help someone else. Please note, at this time, RICovery does not have the materials to test for Xyzlaxine/Tranq, as the availability for these specific materials is still low.
