As Hiring Manager, you are responsible for selecting a search chair and a committee to oversee the search process for the position you are hiring for as well as making final hiring decisions.

Fill an Open Position

This process is used for non-classified staff and faculty positions only. Posting of these positions may be requested by submitting a Staff Job Posting Questionnaire or Faculty Job Posting Questionnaire 

  1. Seek approval from VP/Dean of department to post an open position
  2. Please complete a questionnaire for position being posted
  3. Attach a revised job description to the questionnaire
  4. Attach an approval email from VP/Dean and or President 

Fill an Open (Classified) Position

This process is used for classified staff and faculty positions only. Posting of these positions may be requested by submitting a Job Questionnaire Form.

  1. Seek approval from VP and/or President to post an open position
  2. Please complete a questionnaire for position being posted
  3. Attach an approval email from VP and or President

Search Chair Role and Responsibilities

  1. You are selected by the Hiring Manager to oversee the search process and you are responsible for ensuring that each search committee member reads the contents of the Affirmative Action Search Packet prior to evaluating applications or interviewing any candidates.
  2. In compliance with RIC's Affirmative Action plan, you are required to schedule a Search Committee Training with the Office of Human Resources.
  3. You are required to complete this electronic Affirmative Action Monitoring Report at the end of the search.
