The National Security Agency created the GenCyber program to provide free summer cybersecurity camp for high school students and teachers. RIC is a GenCyber camp host, and for many summers has provided rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a two-week learning experience aimed at inspiring entrance into the field of cybersecurity.

Did you know cybersecurity experts are in demand across the country? With a cybersecurity degree, you will become uniquely qualified to serve the security needs of businesses, government and other agencies that make up the nation’s infrastructure.
The Task Force will be chaired by former Congressman Jim Langevin, who was also selected by Governor McKee to lead RIC’s new Institute for Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies. Under Langevin’s leadership, the task force will assess the risks and opportunities presented by the advancement of AI and advise state policymakers.
McKee called for a bond referendum to grow RIC’s new cybersecurity program as part of his effort to boost the state's per capita income.
