Partnerships with Other Colleges

Rhode Island College is pleased to offer articulation agreements with other colleges to provide a seamless transfer of credits. Instead of retaking courses at RIC, we're able to provide transfer credit for the courses you've already taken at your previous school whose content is similar to RIC courses.

Are You Currently a CCRI Student?

Consider an Additional Option: The RIC/CCRI Joint Admissions Agreement

Current Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) students with an interest in transferring to RIC should ask about our Joint Admissions Agreement (JAA). The JAA between RIC and CCRI allows CCRI students to easily transfer to RIC. Students can begin working toward one of 23 bachelor's degrees at RIC while earning their associate's degree at CCRI. The purpose of the JAA is to facilitate the transition from the associate's degree at CCRI to the bachelor's degree at RIC.

FAFSA/Financial Aid

While the 2024–2025 FAFSA is open for students and families to complete, there will now be a delay in the information sent to colleges and universities. The U.S. Department of Education predicts it won’t begin sending students' FAFSA information to colleges and universities until the middle of March. This will delay Rhode Island College’s, as well as many higher education institutions', ability to award financial aid to new and returning students.

Scheduling a Transfer Appointment

Students may request a preliminary evaluation through email by sending transcripts and their intended major to transfer@ric.edu. You can also make an appointment with one of our transfer admissions counselors, Brian Stevens or Lucas Del Savio to learn more about the transfer admission process and how credits will transfer from another college or university.

Rhode Island College representatives visit community college campuses regularly. Meet with your advising office to learn when RIC will be on your campus.
