You are considered a transfer student if you have obtained 24 or more credits coming into Rhode Island College.

All transfer students are required to attend orientation to gain valuable information about our campus and register for classes. If you are being re-admitted to the college, or obtaining a Second Bachelors Degree please reach out to the office of New Student Programs to see if attendance is required.

Once you register for an orientation session, an email confirmation will be sent to the email address you confirmed during registration. If you did not receive an email confirmation, please first check your “Spam” or “Junk” folder as well as your RIC email. If you no longer have access to the email address you used, please contact the Office of New Student Programs at 401-456-8083 or email orientation@ric.edu.

To change the personal email address on file please login to MyRIC > Personal Contact Info > Email Addresses > You will be able to change your "home" email address here.

During Orientation Registration you will be asked to include information for up to 2 guests. The family orientation program will take place on your selected one-day orientation date, from 9 am–5 pm.

No payment is required at this time. The one-time New Student Fee that covers all your costs for orientation and programs in your first year, will be included in your first bill.

Yes! During Orientation new students will get to meet virtually with faculty or professional advisors who will assist them in building a schedule that they will get to go home with.

Transfer student will also receive advisor information prior to their orientation session. This provides you the ability to receive one-on-one advising to assist with individual transfer credit questions

If you are a transfer student with 24 or more transfer credits, you do not have to take RIC100.

To begin using your RIC account (or to regain access to RIC email, Blackboard, and MyRIC), you will need to set an initial password. Set a new password by visiting Setting your Password.
