Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, 1918-2008
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn died on August 3, 2008 in Moscow. Exiled from his native Russia in 1974 for his anti-communist writings, he led a reclusive life in Vermont until he was able to return to his country in 1994. Solzhenitsyn was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1970.
An exhibit on Solzhenitsyn's works is on display in the James P. Adams Library through the month of August.
