Performing and Fine Arts Scholarships

We are a regional leader in performing and fine arts education. These scholarships are available to students interested in pursing a career in music, theatre, dance and the fine arts.
Bicho Family Endowed Scholarship |
This award has four scholarships, one in each concentration. Applicants must be enrolled as undergraduate sophomores, juniors or seniors. Applicants must be a keyboard player; a string player (violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar or harp); a brass, wind or percussion player; or a vocalist. |
Deborah Griffin Family Memorial Scholarship |
Applicants must have attended a Providence public school and demonstrate a high level of talent. Applicants must also qualify for financial need. |
Ethel Salhany Memorial Endowed Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as undergraduate art majors. Applicants must also qualify for financial need and be a Rhode Island resident. |
Helen Forman '34 Endowment for Special Talent Scholarship |
There are three scholarships awarded. Applicants must be a music, theatre or dance major. One scholarship for each major is awarded. Applicants must demonstrate the highest level of talent. |
Jeanne Aubin Rose '62 Endowed Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students, qualify for financial need and be Rhode Island residents. Preference will be given to a student majoring in music, theatre or dance respectively. |
John A. Kelly Theatre Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as undergraduate juniors majoring in theatre with a minimum overall GPA of 3.2. Preference will be given to Rhode Island residents. |
John Pellegrino Endowed Scholarship for Brass Students |
Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate seniors majoring in music. Applicants must also play a brass instrument and demonstrate outstanding brass performance, service performance organizations associated with the Music, Theatre, and Dance Department. |
Louis Appleton Memorial Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as undergraduate sophomores or juniors majoring in music, with a concentration in voice or keyboards. Preference will be given to students active in church music. |
Louis N. Lilli, Sr Memorial Endowed Voice Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate incoming freshmen or transfer students majoring in voice. Applicants must demonstrate a high level of talent through an audition. |
Mary F. Luzzi Scholarship |
Applicants must be film/media studies or film/media production majors. Applicants must also be graduates of or transfer students from the Community College of Rhode Island, Rhode Island residents and qualify for financial need. |
Mark E. Goldman Theatre Scholarship |
Applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5, submit an application and audition. The audition is judged in performing arts, with emphasis on acting. |
Mary L. Beck Endowed Scholarship for Voice |
Applicants must be enrolled as undergraduate sophomores, juniors or seniors. Applicants must also be a current voice student, demonstrating proficiency in performance. |
MaryAnn DiNunzio '65 Memorial Endowed Scholarship |
Applicants must be a theatre major, demonstrating persistent character and committed to excellence. |
Melody Stappas Memorial Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as undergraduate sophomores, juniors or seniors and be an outstanding piano student. |
Meredith M. Thayer '68 Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as theatre majors. |
Michael S. Kroian, Sr. Endowed Scholarship |
Applicants must be music education or music performance majors in choral/vocal or instrumental and be a Rhode Island resident. Preference will be given to, in this order, a graduate from Veteran's Memorial High School in Warwick, a graduate from any Warwick high school or any Rhode Island high school who declares one of the above majors. |
Richard Vars Music Education Endowed Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as full-time or part-time undergraduate juniors or seniors majoring in music education. Applicants must also have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to a percussionist who graduated from either Rogers High School, East Providence High School, Middletown High School or Tiverton High School. |
Robert D. Soule Technical Theatre Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate or graduate students majoring in design/technical theatre. Applicants must also qualify academically and demonstrate a serious commitment to theatre as well as artistic talents in the field of scene, lighting, sound, costume or makeup design. |
Sylvan R. and Helen Forman Endowed Music Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as either full-time undergraduate sophomores, juniors or seniors or a graduate student majoring in music. Applicants must also demonstrate a serious commitment to music and have strong academic standing. |
Sylvan R. and Helen Forman Endowed Theatre Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as either full-time undergraduate sophomores, juniors or seniors or a graduate student majoring in theatre. Applicants must also demonstrate a serious commitment to music and have strong academic standing. |
The Miranda Family Scholarship |
Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate juniors or seniors majoring in music, theatre and/or dance. Applicants must also have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 and qualify for financial need. Applicants are required to submit a letter of interest and perform a live audition or interview. Preference will be given to an applicant belonging to an underrepresented group as defined by the government census data and/or a first-generation college student. Preference will also be given to an applicant who qualifies for financial need and who is eligible for a Pell Grant. |
Tess Hoffmann Film Studies Scholarship |
Applicants must be film studies majors who have met course requirements and are academically qualified. |
The Thomas R. Pezzullo Memorial Endowed Scholarship |
Applicants must be undergraduate students who demonstrate that they are actively involved and talented in theatre, such as acting or supporting activities. Applicants must also qualify for financial need. Preference will be given to applicants majoring in theatre. |
