Set Up Your RIC Account
Setting up your RIC account gives you access to several RIC platforms, including your @ric.edu email and our MyRIC portal. The MyRIC portal will allow you to make your housing deposit, enroll in a meal plan, and register for your math placement exam.
To begin using (or regain access to) your RIC account you will need to set an initial password.
Need assistance setting up your RIC account? Contact the Help Desk or visit the walk-in lab at Whipple Hall,102.
We hope that you’re planning on making RIC your home. Living and dining at RIC will allow you to fully immerse yourself in the college experience - which research tells us yields improved academic, social, and emotional outcomes for students.
Commit to living at RIC by making your housing deposit today on the MyRIC portal. After logging in please navigate to Campus Finances > Make a Payment.
Incoming first-year students must schedule and take their mathematics placement exam prior to attending orientation. This allows students to schedule the appropriate mathematics and/or science course during orientation.
Students opting not to take the placement exam will begin their math courses at Math 010 (no credits towards degree) to satisfy the math milestone.
Register for the math placement exam on the MyRIC portal.
If you're hoping to earn credit for AP or IB courses that you took in high school, please send us your AP test scores and/or IB test scores. We also require your final high school and/or college transcript(s). Official transcripts and test scores should be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions:

The Seal of Biliteracy
If the Seal of Biliteracy is on your high school transcript, you will receive college credit at Rhode Island College!
Silver Seal of Biliteracy: 4 Credits
You will receive credit for a relevant 113-level language course (4 credits), which will satisfy the college’s second language requirement. ($418 per credit = a savings of approximately $1,672)
Gold Seal of Biliteracy: 8 Credits
You will receive credit for a relevant 113 and 114-level language course (totaling 8 credits), which will satisfy the college's second language requirement. ($418 per credit = a savings of approximately $3,344)
Please Note: If you satisfy the requirements but the Seal of Biliteracy isn’t on your transcript, please have your school counselor email us with your name and the level you’ve achieved. We will waive the high school foreign language requirement and award college credit! If your state does not award Gold/Silver levels, score reports from official testing agencies that show Advanced-Low/Intermediate-Mid may be used to determine the Seal level from your state.
We're ready to give you all the support and guidance you need as you acclimate to becoming a RIC student. Get started now and get orientation on your calendar!
The Office of New Student Programs will automatically send you information about registering for orientation once you have paid your deposit. Please check your @ric.edu email for all communication regarding Orientation going forward. All new students attend orientation and register for classes during New Student Orientation. Please sign up as soon as possible to secure the date you desire - registration is first-come, first-served.
