Cary grew up in downeast Maine. She has worked and lived across the United States (including Baton Rouge LA, Boston MA, Detroit MI, Oakland CA, and Providence RI) and built a career working collaboratively with young people and their families in community-based organizations, schools, and private practice as a clinician, educator, activist, artist, and administrator of programming. Cary is passionate about social work as a social justice enterprise and mentoring developing social workers to practice in creative, transformative, and multidisciplinary ways. She lives in Pawtucket with her family.
