Are you motivated to learn new skills and secure employment? This Medical Assistant Certificate Program may be perfect for you, as long as you're 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent, are not currently enrolled in a degree program at Rhode Island College or another college, are considered unemployed/underemployed/dislocated worker, and you can provide a RI BCI Background Check. The program is free to those who are eligible.

How the Program Runs

  • 14 Weeks of In-Person Classwork
  • Westerly Education Center Annex
  • Monday–Thursday, 9 am–3 pm
  • Plus a 120 Hour Clinical Internship

The Medical Assistant Certificate of Continuing Study (CCS) prepares students for a career as a medical assistant, with competency and confidence in:

Eligible graduates are able to sit for the National Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam.
