Graduate Assistant Career & Life Design Center
1 full-Time (20 hours a week)
Primary Purpose
The Career & Life Design Center (CLDC) is an office in the Division of Student Success that facilitates undergraduate, graduate and alumni career exploration as well as coordinates student employment opportunities. The office facilitates employer engagement opportunities, job & internship fairs, networking opportunities, and job readiness workshops etc. each semester. The qualified Graduate Assistant will have an interest in this work.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Graduate Assistant (GA) will have a combination of responsibilities that can include one-on-one student interaction, program development and support with administrative projects.
- We will focus on developing NACE competencies within our Graduate Assistant
- The GA will assist in maintaining our career closet (requesting donations, facilitating partnerships, and advertising).
- The GA will work with the Assistant Director in programming for all on-campus student workers. This programming will focus on developing work readiness skills in their current roles and understanding its impact on their future employment.
- The GA will work to advertise events on social media platforms.
- If the GA has an interest in career development, they will have the opportunity to observe/learn from counseling staff members.
- Develop/strengthen general presentation skills
Qualifications
Enrolled in a RIC graduate program. Strong communication, interpersonal skills and an interest in programming are required.
