Graduate Assistant English Department
2 Full-time positions (20 hours a week)
Primary Purpose
The English Department invites applications for a graduate assistantship for the 2026-2027 academic year. Each graduate assistant apprentices with a full-time English faculty member for work on outreach for the department and/or research in the fall and with another full-time English faculty member for a teaching assistantship in the spring.
Duties and Responsibilities
- may include working as a teaching assistant in a First-Year Writing class, an introductory literature class, or a course in the assistant’s particular field of interest;
- assisting faculty with research projects;
- and/or developing resources for student outreach and professional development in the department.
The responsibilities of this position can be tailored for each graduate assistant to provide valuable skills-building experiences for their own career goals
Qualifications
The student must carry a minimum of 6 credits in the English MA program. Full-time graduate assistants work 20 hours per week.
